Scholarships

We are delighted to announce the Global Student Awards for students commencing a UCIC programme in October 2026, and February 2027.

All students who meet the academic entry requirements for a UCIC programme for the October 2026 intake and February 2027 intake will automatically receive a Global Student Award equivalent to 10% of their tuition fees.

This award recognises academic achievement and supports students as they begin their pathway journey.

Please email admissions@ucic.ac.nz at least 72 hours prior to arrival in Christchurch to secure free airport pick-up. You will need to supply your incoming flight details and address in Christchurch.

The Welcome Pack consists of a UCIC-branded backpack with various promotional items and vouchers. The colour and contents of the backpack may vary.

At UC International College, we are proud to see our highest-achieving students recognised as they progress to the University of Canterbury. The UC Dean’s Award celebrates academic excellence and acknowledges students who demonstrate outstanding achievement in their undergraduate pathway or pre-master’s studies.

• Undergraduate Pathway Students
  Students who complete their UCIC Certificate in Foundation Studied or Diploma in University Studies programme with a B+ average will be eligible to be considered for a UC Dean’s Award upon admission to UC
  Scholarship amount: NZD$4000.

• Pre-Master’s Students
  Pre-Master’s students are assessed under a ‘one-up’ principle. Where the standard academic requirement for entry into a UC Master’s degree is a B average, for example, students who achieve a B+ average in their UCIC programme will be eligible for consideration for a Dean’s Award. All awards are assessed and confirmed by UC at the point of admission.
  Scholarship amount: NZD$8000.

Follow-On First Year Scholarships

Once students have completed at least one trimester of study at UCIC, they are eligible to apply for a range of scholarships at the University of Canterbury. Some of these include:

• UC International First Year Scholarship 
• University of Canterbury Southeast Asia High Achievers Scholarship
• University of Canterbury China High Achievers Scholarship
• University of Canterbury India High Achievers Scholarship
• Tan Sri Datuk Oh Siew Nam P.S.M, P.J.N. Malaysian Scholarship
• Kuching Malaysian Alumni Scholarship
