During your first week at UCIC and the University of Canterbury, you will be introduced to all of your new classmates and some of our current students. But if you want to get a better insight to what life is like before you arrive, you can always access some of UCIC’s social media pages.
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/UCICstudents
Facebook is really useful to get in contact with us if you have a question. It is also used by current students to get in contact with each other and buy and sell things like textbooks. It’s a great way to make friends or see how other students are getting on at UCIC.
Instagram – https://instagram.com/ucic_nz/
Instagram is fast becoming one the largest social media platforms in the world and provides an excellent way to get a real feel for what somewhere is like, what to expect, and all through fun pictures.
UCSA - http://ucsa.org.nz/
University of Canterbury Student Association or UCSA is a great way to meet new friends and people who share your interests. We encourage all of our students to join clubs. They also have great support services and their fortnightly publication ‘Canta’ is always worth a read.
UCIC Student Mentors
During your first few weeks at UCIC we will put you in touch with student mentors/ambassadors. These are past students or current students who provide help and support to all of our new students.
HERE ARE SOME APPS RECOMMENDED BY OUR STUDENTS TO HELP YOU WHEN ARRIVING AND SETTLING IN TO LIFE IN NEW ZEALAND AND AT UCIC.
